Cargo traffic at Ukraine's Berdyansk port soars 1.8 times to 404,900 tonnes

In November, cargo volumes handled by port operators at the Port of Bedyansk increased by 1.8 times year-on-year to 404,900 tonnes, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine said.

The monthly throughput growth was driven by exports volume which increased by 56.7% on the previous year figure to 229,600 tonnes and a 43.3% gain in short sea trade volume (175,300 tonnes).

State-owned port operator Berdyansky MTP has handled in the reporting period 381,000 tonnes of cargo.

Berdyansk Commercial Sea Port is a maritime intermodal transport hub of Zaporozhye region of Ukraine. From January through September the port handled 1.84 million tonnes, which represents a 36% gain year-on-year.
