Rosterminalugol terminal at the on-dock railyard unloaded 500 rail cars loaded with export coal per a 12-hour shift, a record number of cars handled ever at the facility, the stevedore company said.
The previous record high was set in July 2014 when the terminal operator handled 479 cars per the shift.
SC Rosterminalugol was established in 1996 to build and operate the coal terminal at Port of Ust-Luga. The terminal’s projected annual coal throughput is 8 million tons. The Company specializes in loading / unloading operations, freight forwarding services, building and maintenance of facilities at the coal terminal. The company also provides insurance services for cargoes and property, the risks of transactions at Ust-Luga port. The terminal has two berths of total length of 540 meters with depth of 14 meters. The terminal is able now to accommodate vessels of up to 240 m in length and 32 m in breadth. In 2013, coal exports via the terminal rose 6.9% year-over-year to 14.72 million tonnes.
