Russian shipbuilding development plan 2025 should be ready by March 2015, official says
The program of development of Russian shipbuilding sector until 2025 is to be developed by March 2015, the IAA PortNews correspondent quoted Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin as saying.
Dmitry Rogozina, the Chairman of the Russian Government's Marine Board told the Marine Board meeting that ships and marine equipment must be manufactured on the territory of Russia and that the defense industry shipyards should be ready to perform also civil orders.
The Ministry of Economic Development should coordinate efforts for the development of shipbuilding sector, Rogozin said.
In addition, governors of Primorsky regions will be engaged in work of the Government's Marine Board which becomes the operational tool for implementing the shipbuilding policy.
Currently, there are several civil shipbuilding projects under the Federal Target Program (FTP) for construction of 23 vessels and 6 floating units, including one multipurpose 4 MW salvage ship, five salvage tugs of rated power ranging 2.5 to 3 MW, one diving support vessel and one diving boat, eight oil boom workboats, five FF tugs and two 360-tonne seagoing combo deck / tank carriers equipped with loading docks.
