Gennady Yegorov, Director General of Marine Engineering Bureau introduced the project of Ice2 class ferry for Crimea-Kavkaz line to Rosmorrechflot’s expert council, IAA PortNews journalist reports.
The railway ferry which can be used also for other lines will be able to carry 840 passengers. As of today, there are no ferries which could transport wagons and passengers simultaneously.
Upon completion of the bridge across the Kerch Strait the ferry could serve the Kavkaz-Poti and Kavkaz-Samsun lines.
Gennady Yegorov says the expected payback period is 3.3 with 90% load which means that it will pay off by completion of the Kerch bridge and then can be operate at other Black Sea lines.
