CIMC Raffles wins the bidding of 300ft Sinopec jackup drilling rig

On 23rd Dec. 2014, CIMC Raffles won the bidding of 300ft Sinopec jackup drilling rig, which will be managed by Shengli Petroleum Engineering Co. Sinopec Shengli Petroleum Engineering Co., Ltd after the delivery. With the working depth of 91.4m, design temperature of -15℃, drilling depth of 9,144m and accommodation for 120 personnel, the rig can operate in the deep range of 15-91.4 meter global sea areas. Self-designed by Shengli Drilling Technology Research Institute of Sinopec, the rig is classed by CCS. The self-research and design get fully supports from the Shandong Government. Friendly-operation and high-effective construction are adequately considered in the rig design. Concurrently, breakthroughs are made in the core equipment and materials, with localization being 70%, the company said in its press release.

It is the second offshore cooperation project between CIMC Raffles and Sinopec after their strategic cooperation agreement in 2012. On 21st Jun. 2014, their first cooperation project “New Shengli No.1”began into operation in Bohai Bay. Having drilled 7 wells, completed 6 wells, with the total drilling depth of 15,264 meters, we received the congratulation message from Shengli Petroleum Engineering Co. Sinopec Shengli Petroleum Engineering Co., Ltd. It is said, “The rig is in good condition with all equipment working well. In the 6-month production period, there is no breakdown due to equipment or system design errors. ”
