Transneft says Tikhoretsk – Tuapse-2 oil pipeline is not under Company operation so far
Transneft, JSC has not accepted the oil pipeline Tikhoretsk – Tuapse-2 so far, the Compay says in its press release.
At 22:40 Moscow time on December 23, 2014, the pipeline lost pressure on the 242 kilometer of the Tikhoretsk – Tuapse-2 oil pipeline under construction near the Grechesky Township of the Tuapse District. According to preliminary estimates, oil leak totaled 8.4 cubic meters. The oil pipeline wall was destroyed under the effect of external load – as a result of a landslide.
Emergency and repair services started to promptly liquidate the consequences of the accident. Floating booms were installed on the Tuapse River. The emergency and repair services will work until the consequences of the incident are fully removed, the Company says.
According to Transneft, oil filling works were carried out in the said section of the Tikhoretsk – Tuapse-2 oil pipeline built by RN-Krasnodarneftegaz, LLC. RN-Krasnodarneftegaz, LLC is the customer of the facilities designed to supply oil to the Tuapse oil refinery. The facility was built by DSMU-Gazstroy, LLC contracted by RN-Krasnodarneftegaz, LLC.
