Ports of Primorsky region handled nearly 1.6 million tonnes of fish products

Russian fishermen have delivered as of December 25 2014 to the ports based in Primorsky Krai about 1,589,000 tonnes of fish products, or 3,600 tonnes more than for the same period a year earlier, the Federal Agency for Fishery said.

The volume includes 890,252 tonnes of pollock catches, and 272,364 tonnes of herring.

Besides, there are currently seven fishing vessels approaching the ports, carrying about 24,000 tonnes of fish, including roughly about 10,000 tonnes of pollock and 8,800 tonnes of herring.

The average utilization of refrigerators in the ports of the Primorsky Territory as of December 25 was 58%. The agency reports that there was no problem with rolling stock at the ports. The cost of shipping of fish from Vladivostok to Moscow is an average of RUB 8,1 to 8,5 per kilogram.

As of 25 December, 78 express trains laden with fish products have been dispatched to western districts of the country.
