Allocations of Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg for environmental programme totaled RUB 36.5 mln in 2014

Within January-December of 2014 OJSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” (SP SPb) transferred 36.5 mln Rubles for the implementation of the environmental programme.

16 mln Rubles were transferred for the renewal and technical maintenance of environmental facilities of the company, including reconstruction of heat and power facility and modernization of water disposal system.

13.1 mln Rubles were transferred for protection of water resources: the company performed monitoring of waste and natural water, controlled the use of seashore area and cleared water area near the berths of the company. In order to meet the requirements of environmental legislation and sanitary norms the company provided regular waste water treatment.

Besides, within the reporting period SP SPb monitored air and ensured safe handling of consumption and production wastes. 

OJSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” (included in UCL Port – stevedoring division of the International transportation group UCL Holding) – is the largest operator, rendering services on handling of all types of dry cargoes in the Greater Port of Saint-Petersburg. It operates by modern specialized terminals for handling of ro-ro cargoes, cars and metals. In 2014 the turnover of the company amounted to 8.1 mln tons.
