Sevmash OJSC has been approved by RF Government Decree as a sole contractor to perform service maintenance of state-of-the-art nuclear submarines of Borei class, the Company’s press center says.
Over the recent three years Severodvinsk-based should delivered three Borei-class submarines to RF Navy: Yuri Dolgoruki (delivery certificate signed on December 30, 2012; flag-hoisting ceremony held on January 10, 2013), Aleksandr Nevsky (flag-hoisting ceremony held on December 23, 2013) and Vladimir Monomakh (flag-hoisting ceremony held on December 19, 2014). Earlier, service maintenance of Yuri Dolgoruki and Aleksandr Nevsky subs was performed by Ship Repair Center ‘Zvezdochka’. According to Sergei Voronko, head of Sevmash Guarantee and Service Department, the documents for the 3-year contract have been forwarded to the Ministry of Defence for approval.
Besides, RF Ministry of Defence has recently signed an additional contract with the shipyard for service maintenance of nuclear submarines of Yasen class. Nuclear submarine Severodvinsk joined RF Navy June 17, 2014. The 3-year contract was signed in July 2014.
