In eastern Russia, 978.6 km of track were reconstructed on 128 railway stretches, 15.6 km of additional main lines commissioned, 1,642 linear metres of small and medium-sized bridges renovated and 10,600 square metres of technological housing built.
In addition, the Kiparisovsky and Mansky tunnels were commissioned, as well as 12.2 km of second tracks and 2.4 km of station tracks on the 83 km Kharanor - Razyezd section between Karymskaya - Zabaikalsk stretch, the second track on the 3.4 km on the Dzhigdasi - Kenada section and tracks extended by 2.28 km at Dzhigdasi station.
Four new sidings were built on the Shivery - Aku and Taku - Kuanda sections between Taksimo - Novaya Chara on East Siberian Railways, and the Kun - Gurskoe and Novy Mir - Pivan sections on Far Eastern Railways.

As part of the project, 2014 saw in all 126 km of new tracks laid, as well as 87 km of station tracks, 38 km of second tracks (twin-track sidings loops), while 554 switching points were installed, 251 kilometers of track equipped with automatic block signalling and 10.1 million cubic metres of roadbed deposited.
As a result of all the work performed, the carrying capacity of the stretch between Tynda - Komsomolsk-on-Amur compared with 2012 increased by 8.6 million tons to 15.4 million tons per annum, that on the Komsomolsk-on-Amur - Busan stretch by 7.1 million tons to 21.3 million tons per annum, the Taishet - Bamovskaya stretch by 14.4 million tons to 87.1 million tons per annum, the Bamovskaya - Volochaevka stretch by 4.2 million tons to 87, 2 million tons per annum and the Volochaevka - Nakhodka section by 7.1 million tons to 85.2 million tons per annum.
The total cost of the project was set at 562 billion roubles, of which 302 billion roubles will be financed by Russian Railways and the remaining 260 billion roubles from the National Welfare Fund and the federal budget of the Russian Federation.
The project includes 1,218 objects, including the development of sorting, pre-port and port stations and border crossings in Russia's Far East, the completion of complex projects to develop the Komsomolsk-on-Amur - Sovetskaya Gavan section, which includes the construction of a new Kuznetsovsky tunnel, the completion of complex projects to develop the Karymskaya - Zabaikalsk line with the electrification of the Borzya - Zabaikalsk line, the reconstruction and modernisation of the track superstructure and artificial constructions and the construction of technological housing.
The aim of the project is to develop and modernise rail infrastructure to increase its carrying capacity by 2020 in the direction of seaports and border crossings in Russia's Far East by 66 million tons per annum compared to the level of 2012 (the transportation of coal and various kinds of ores from the key players and promising mineral deposits in Eastern Russia in 2020 year from 113.2 million tons to 124.4 million tons). This includes ensuring passage for freight trains carrying bulk cargo to the ports of Russia's Far East, with a weighted norm of 7,100 tons and the operation of freight cars with a load of 25 tons per axle.
