Icebreaking assistance to/from ports of Rostov-on-Don, Azov and Taganrog was resumed on February 19, 2015 after it was suspended because of bad weather, regional correspondent of IAA PortNews reports from the open meeting of the Baltic Committee on arrangement of icebreaking assistance in Russian seaports of the Azov Sea.
16 vessels are assisted by the Kapitan Demidov icebreaker towards the Azov Sea and 27 vessels are assisted by the Kapitan Chudinov icebreaker towards seaports Rostov, Azov and Taganrog.
“The Taganrog Bay is cover with ice” – Aleksandr Danilenko said, According to him it is the third freezing period in ice navigation of 2014-2015.
