GTT secures new contract for one MOL LNGC
GTT, a designer of membrane containment systems for the maritime transportation and storage of LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) was awarded new order for one Liquefied Natural Gas Carrier (LNGC). The vessel will be built by the South Korean shipbuilder DSME (Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering), the GTT said in a press release.
The LNGC, for Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL), is expected to be delivered in 2018.
The ship will be built with the innovative NO96-GW technology which allows an optimized boil-off rate of cargo LNG.
GTT (Gaztransport & Technigaz) is an engineering company formed in 1994 by the merger of the two major players in the field of LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) membrane containment systems: Gaztransport and S.N.Technigaz resulting in a cumulative experience of more than 60 years in the field of cryogenics and storage of liquefied gases. GTT’s two main areas of expertise are cargo containment systems (CCS) for LNG carriers and land storage of LNG. LNG carriers and tanks designed with GTT containment systems have also been used to carry and store other liquefied gases (LPG, Ethlyene etc.). GTT licences its technologies to world leading shipyards and EPCs for the construction of LNG carriers and land storage tanks.
