Throughput of Rostov-on-Don port down 9% to 2.96 mln t in Jan-Apr’15

In January-April 2015, the port of Rostov-on-Don handled 2.967 mln t of cargo (-9%, year-on-year), port Harbour Master Pavel Zakharchenko told IAA PortNews.

Transshipment of crude and oil products remained at the level of the previous year – 825,000 t. Grain transshipment fell by 14.8% to 656,000 t, transshipment of non-grain bulk cargo – by 6.5% to 619,000 t, metal scrap — by 23% to 217,000, liquid bulk food — by 18% to 162,000 t, general cargo – by 28.1% to 149,000 t. Transshipment of coal and coke surged by 23.5% to 266,000 t.

In the reported period, loading fell by 4.7% to 2.380 mln t, unloading – by 12.2% to 283,000 t, transit – by 31.6% to 305,000 t. The number of calls fell by 8.2% to 878 incoming and 929 outgoing vessels against 981 incoming and 1012 outgoing vessels in 2014.

Bunkering at the port of Rostov-on-Don dropped by 41.7% to 15,400 t.
