In January-May 2015, the port of Rostov-on-Don handled 4.541 mln t of cargo (11.7%, year-on-year), port Harbour Master Pavel Zakharchenko told IAA PortNews.
Transshipment of crude and oil products fell by 7% to 1.453 mln t. Grain transshipment fell by 28.2% to 754,000 t, transshipment of non-grain bulk cargo – 4.4% to 1.048 mln t, metal scrap — by 19% to 327,000, liquid bulk food — by 9.7% to 201,000 t, general cargo – by 27.7% to 217,000 t. Transshipment of coal and coke surged by 29.1% to 420,000.
In the reported period, loading fell by 2.9% to 3.109 mln t, unloading – by 16.8% to 394,000 t, transit – by 29.3% to 1.039 mln t. The number of calls fell by 13.4% to 1,492 incoming and 1,538 outgoing vessels against 1,737 incoming and 1,777 outgoing vessels in 2014.
Bunkering at the port of Rostov-on-Don dropped by 45.6% to 19,500 t.
