USPA to bring depth to design characteristics in Khlebnaya and Quarantine harbors of Odessa port
In June 2015, the dredging works in the waters of Khlebnaya and Quarantine harbors of the port of Odessa as well as at the berth No20 of the passenger terminal were completed, says press center of Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA). The works were performed by hydraulic dredge «Meotida», which owns the SE “Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority”. As you know, USPA is obligated to maintain the certified depths at the ports in accordance with the Law “On the Seaports of Ukraine”. The dredging works were carried out by the means of own fleet of the USPA.
According to experts of the Chief Engineer Service of the port of Odessa, the dredging provide the design depth at the berths and enables handling ships safely and efficiently, including the ships of Panamax and Postpanamax class.
