Scope of routine dredging at Russia's IWW down 13% to 2.6 mln cbm in Jan-May’15

In January-May 2015, the scope of routine dredging at inland water ways of the Russian Federation fell by 13% to 2.6 mln cbm, IAA PortNews correspondent cites Viktor Vovk, Deputy Head of Federal Marine and River Transport Agency (Rosmorrechflot), as saying in Moscow, at the joint meeting of the Board and the Public Council of Rosmorrechflot.  

According to him, the length of Russia’s inland water ways with guaranteed dimensions of navigable channels has increased by 183 km to 49,000 km, IWW with lighting – by 222 km to 37,000 km. 

As of January 1, 2015, the length of inland water ways of the Russian Federation was 101,700 km.
