The scheduled exercise with the Baltic Fleet missile regiment is taking place in Kaliningrad region, says press center of RF Ministry of Defence. During the exercise, servicemen will perform tasks concerning detection and engagement of simulated enemy ships in waters of the Baltic Sea using advanced mobile coastal defence complexes Redut.
In the course of the exercise, the units performed marching along the Baltic Sea coast to the fire position regions and deployed missile launching systems in order to counteract surface ships and defend the coast.
The crews are to improve their skills in preparing missiles for the strike and are to practice target detecting and engaging.
Mobile coastal defence complexes Redut are designed to engage all types of surface ships. The complex missiles have powerful warhead and high cruising speed. These characteristics boost engagement chances.
