Cargo traffic at Ukraine's Berdyansk port up over 2-fold 2.28 mln t in 7M’15

In January-July, cargo volumes handled by port operators at the Port of Bedyansk increased over 2 times year-on-year to 2.28 mln t, says Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.

In July the port handled 411,700 t, which is a record monthly throughput.

Berdyansk Commercial Sea Port is a maritime intermodal transport hub of Zaporozhye region of Ukraine. The port is located in the north-eastern part of the Gulf of Berdyansk of the Sea of ​​Azov. The port handles export, import, transit and short sea trade cargoes. The port includes outer harbor, an access channel and the harbor of Berdyansk. The latter consists of two basins, West and East, which comprise inner harbour. The harbor has the 20-km-long, 90-m-wide access channel, 8.55 m in depth and with maximum draft of 7.9 m., and the fairway № 54. In 2014 cargo throughput at the port of Berdyansk grew by 47.8%  to 3.19 million tonnes.
