Throughput of UCL Port stevedoring division up 10% to 16.9 mln t in HI’15

In January-July, 2015 stevedoring division of UCL Port (part of UCL Holding) handled 16.91 mln t (+19%, year-on-year), press center of UCL Holding says.

Export cargoes operations rose by 14%, or 1.9 mln t. Transshipment of oil cargo totaled 4.57 mln t (+31%, year-on-year), dry cargo – 12.34 mln t (+4%).

The structure of operations by type of cargo was as follows: 87.9% - export cargo (14.9 mln t); 11.5% - import cargo (1.95 mln t); 0.6% - coastal trade cargo.

Transshipment of general cargo climbed by 15% to 4.9 mln t including 2.8 mln t of ferrous metal (+25%) and 0.75 mln t of non-ferrous metal (+24%).

Transshipment of loose and bulk dry cargo fell by3% to 5.33 mln t including 0.3 mln t of mineral fertilizers (-41%), 0.8 mln t of grain (-17%), 3.6 mln t of coal (+4%), 0.5 mln t of ore (+35%).

Container throughput of UCL Port showed a negative trend, down 11% to 179,000 TEUs. The share of loaded containers increased from 35% to 67.5% allowing for the division’s container throughput in tonnes to remain flat, year-on-year..

Stevedoring assets of UCL Port handle a wide range of goods, including metals, coal, grain, fertilizers, oil and petroleum products. The total storage area operated by the group's companies encompasses nearly 900,000 sqm. Total quay length is about 11,400 m.
