In January-August 2015, the port of Rostov-on-Don handed 10.363 mln t of cargo (-11.3%, year-on-year), port Harbour Master Pavel Zakharchenko told IAA PortNews.
Transshipment of crude and oil products fell by 3.6% to 3,458,000, grain bulk cargo – by 12.1% to 2,532,000 t, non- grain bulk cargo – by 20.6% to 2,070,000 t, scrap metal – by 8.5% to 607,000 t, general cargo – by 33.7% to 393,000 t, liquid bulk food – by 10.4% to 263,000 t, metal – by 25% to 215,000 t. Transshipment of coal and coke climbed by 9.2% to 740,000 t.
In the reported period, loading increased by 2.2% to 6,289,000 t; unloading – decreased by 10.7% to 854,000 t, transit – by 29.5% to 3,220,000 t.
In the reported period, turnover of vessels fell by 8%, year-on-year. The number incoming/outgoing vessels fell to 3,754/3,796 against 4,160/4,177 in 8M’14.
Bunkering at the port of Rostov-on-Don dropped by 35% to 36.400 t.
According to Pavel Zakharchenko, the port’s throughput excluding transit fleet operation climbed by 0.4%, year-on-year. The Harbour Master attributed the general decrease to the reduction of transit cargo handling by one third year-on-year.
