BMT Group announces new senior appointments at BMT WBM

BMT WBM, a subsidiary of BMT Group, the leading international maritime design, environmental and engineering consultancy, has announced two new senior appointments within its Water and Environment Group, the company said in its press release.

Sharon Wallace has been appointed as Assistant Business Unit Manager for Queensland, progressing from her role as Queensland Flood Group Manager. She has over 15 years’ experience in flooding, floodplain management and floodplain risk assessment both in Australia and the UK. Sharon will join Craig Witt to manage BMT WBM’s largest Water and Environment business unit.

WBM Bill Syme 220x150Bill Syme, previously BMT WBM’s National Practice Leader for Flooding, will take on the newly formed role of Business Unit Manager for Software. Bill first joined BMT WBM in 1987 and has over 30 years’ experience managing and leading a wide range of flood studies and flood risk management investigations in Australia and overseas. As an international, industry leader in flood modelling and the founding author of TUFLOW flood and coastal simulation software, Bill brings a wealth of experience to the new role. The new Software Business Unit has been formed to enhance and grow internal and external software operations nationally and internationally.
