Ministerial delegation at the Port of Gdansk

On 9 October 2015 the Port of Gdansk hosted a delegation of representatives from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Development, who arrived in numbers at the port for detailed information regarding most of the development projects planned for the coming years at the Port of Gdansk. According to PGA, the guests included, among others, the Heads of the Department of Infrastructure Programmes, Department of Infrastructural Programme Implementation System, Department of Marine Project Implementation and Department of Intermodal and Rail Project Implementation.

The coming years at the Port of Gdansk will be dominated by, among others, infrastructural topics due to the fact that the port has just embarked on its largest ever infrastructure investment programme covering both the Inner and the deepwater area of the port. Therefore, the necessity arose for an in-depth discussion with the representatives of the Ministries of individual investment projects to present technical solutions within particular projects as well as talk about the programme necessary to finance them.

The delegation was welcomed by Jerzy Melaniuk - Vice-President of the Port of Gdansk Authority, who presented an overview of all port development projects, including a detailed division of tasks for project teams established within the framework of the PGA. In turn, particular managers of teams responsible for the implementation of the investment gave presentations on the substantive scope of all the investment plans.

The guests were not only informed about the projects currently being implemented by the PGA and co-financed by the POIiS 2007-2014 programme and TEN-T, but also about projects for which the PGA is planning to raise funds from the so-called New Financial Perspective, including programmes such as POIiS 2007-2014 and CEF "Connecting Europe".

At the end of the visit, the guests were invited to join a cruise around the harbour along with the opportunity to see the port area, which will benefit from particular developmental investment programmes. For the Port of Gdansk this unique visit was also a good opportunity for to provide the representatives of the Ministry of investment with a deeper insight into investment plans both from the point of view of the material scope of work, as well as the possibilities to obtain the necessary EU funding for such projects.
