The Baltic Fleet will receive a newest hydrographical major 19920 project motor boat built at the Vympel shipyard, says press center of RF Defence Ministry.
In the nearest future, the St Andrew’s Flag will be raised over the vessel after signing a receiving agreement and the order of the Russian Navy Commander-in-Chief Admiral Victor Chirkov. The vessel will be performing tasks as a part of the Leningrad military naval base.
The motor boat was designed to perform hydrographical works, supply and maintenance of coastal and floating crafts. The vessel is capable to lead the submarines in the base ports, and transport personnel, special equipment and cargos to the unequipped shore.
The vessel is fitted with the most advanced automated hydrographical complexes, which provide an opportunity to perform an accurate square survey of the sea bottom in high definition.
