From the beginning of the navigation period through October 2015, inland water transport of the Russian Federation carried 111.3 mln t of cargo (including 23.3 mln t of foreign trade cargo), and 13.0 mln passengers. River ports handled 142.2 mln t of cargo, says the press center of Federal Marine and River Transport Agency (Rosmorrechflot).
In the navigation season of 2015, administrations of IWW basins subordinate to Rosmorrechflot were servicing 101,661.6 km of inland water ways including 49,014.4 km of inland water ways with guaranteed dimensions of navigable channels.
