In January-November 2015, the port of Rostov-on-Don handed 15.966 mln t of cargo (-5.8%, year-on-year), Harbour Master Pavel Zakharchenko told IAA PortNews.
Transshipment of crude and oil products fell by 4.2% to 4,961,000 t, non-grain bulk cargo — by 18.2% to 3,015,000 t, metal scrap – by 10.8% to 765,000 t, general cargo - by 35.9% to 542,000 t, liquid bulk food — by 16.4% to 333,000 t. Transshipment of grain cargo increased by 1.8% to 4,961,000 t, metal – by 13.1% to 451,000 t, coal and coke – by 25.9% to 1,144,000 t.
In the reported period, loading increased by12.8% to 9,025,000 t; unloading – fell by 5.5% to 1,155,000 t; transit – by 33.8% to 4,208,000 t.
In the reported period, the number of incoming/outgoing vessels fell to 5,998 / 6,001 against 6,076 / 6,091 a year ago.
Bunkering at the port of Rostov-on-Don dropped by 14.6% to 64,1 t.
The Harbour Master attributed the general decrease to the reduction of transit cargo handling by 33.7%, year-on-year.
