Throughput of port Tallinn (Estonia) down 14.9% to 3.7 mln t in Jan-Feb'16
In January-February 2016, the Port of Tallinn (Estonia) handled 3,702,200 t of cargo (-14.9%, year-on-year). According to the Port Authorities, container throughput dropped by 10.9% to 30,710 TEUs, Ro-Ro cargo increased by 2.8% to 671,800 t.
Transshipment of loose bulk cargo totaled 417,300 (+5.2%), non-marine cargo - 0,900 t (+29.3%).
Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo totaled 2.24 mln t (-23.1%).
In January-February 2016, the ports of Tallinna Sadam were visited by a total of 285 cargo vessels and 762 passenger vessels.
Passenger traffic of Tallinna Sadam ports in January 2016 climbed by 6.1% to 1.17 mln passengers.
Port of Tallinn ranks fourth largest seaport, next to St. Petersburg, Primorsk and Ust-Luga, on the Baltic Sea. The Port comprises five so-called port zones: Muuga, Old City Harbor, Paljassaare, Paldiski South and Saaremaa. In 2014 throughput at Tallinn port totaled 22.44 million tonnes.
