Within the period of January – July of 2016 Klaipeda Seaport cargo handling turnover increased by 4,2 pct. to 23,15 mln tn, i.e. more by 933,3 thou. tn comparing with the corresponding period of 2015, says the port’s press center.
According to the rankings of the change of cargo throughput estimated in percent (4,2 pct) and the increase of cargo handling volumes estimated in tons (933,3 thou. tn) Klaipeda Seaport occupied the 3-rd standing in the list of the Eastern coast Baltic Seaports.
Year-on-year changes of overall turnover according to cargo types:
General cargo – 7 214,6 thou. tn were handled, +11,3 pct. or +734,8 thou. tn yoy;
Liquid cargo – 7 252,8 thou. tn were handled, +16,7 pct. or +1 040,2 thou. tn yoy;
Dry and bulk cargo – 8 682,8 thou. tn were handled, -8,8 pct. or -841,7 thou. tn yoy.
3 978 vessels were reported to call Klaipeda Seaport in January – July of 2016, i.e. more by 4,2 pct. or by 161 vessel comparing with January - July of 2015. The Seaport accommodated 191 999 passengers, i.e., more by 0,4 pct. or by 702 passengers.
Cruise shipping. 32 cruise vessels (more by 6,7 pct. or by 2 vessels) with 34 529 passengers on board (more by 1,9 pct. or by 639 passengers) visited Klaipeda Seaport in May-July of the current year.
