Within the unannounced combat readiness inspection the Southern, Western and Central MD troops, formations of the Coastal troops of the Black Sea Fleet and the Caspian flotilla located in Novorossiysk and Sevastopol, in the Republic of Dagestan and the Astrakhan Region have performed marches to the concentration zones, says press center of RF Defence Ministry.
The servicemen will practice deployment of command centres, camouflaging of military hardware, engineer equipment of terrain. Now they have started practicing anti-amphibious defence of the coast.
Marines of the Black Sea Fleet occupied the standby position before the embarkation on large landing ships. Upon the assigned missions, the Black Sea Fleet has started forming a group of landing ships.
In total, over 4,000 servicemen and about 300 pieces of military hardware are involved in the unannounced combat readiness inspection.
Starting from August 25, the unannounced inspection of the Southern, Western and Central Military Districts, the Northern Fleet, the Main Command of the Aerospace Forces and the Airborne Troops Command, is held upon the decision of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
The activities are conducted within the scenario of preparation for the strategic command-and-staff exercise “Caucasus-2016”
The practical stage of the activities will take place at 14 combined-arms ranges as well as in the Black and Caspian Seas.
The unannounced inspection will last until August 31.
