In January-August 2016, Commercial Sea Port Yuzhny (Ukraine) handled 26,541,200 t, down 17.2%, year-on-year, says Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.
In the reported period, exports totaled 19,975,000 t (-19%, year-on-year), imports – 2,849,200 t (- 20.8%), transit – 2,984,500 t (-20.8%).
In the reported period, transshipment of metal totaled 82,800 t (up 2.5 times), carbamide – 989,100 t (+5.5%), containers – 54.9 TEUs (+59%), vegetable oil – 688,100 (+23.4%).
Yuzhny port is located at the north-western coast of the Black Sea, in ice-free Maly Adzhalyksky (Grigorievsky) estuary, 30 km from Odessa port. The port’s approach channel is 3 miles long and 18.5 meters deep. The port’s major stevedoring company is the state-owned Commercial Sea Port Yuzhny.
