SMi’s highly anticipated inaugural event Naval Mission Systems Technology will be taking place in Rome, Italy on the 14th- 15th November 2016. With the event being held in Rome, Italy; Naval Mission Systems Technology has received great support from the Italian Navy. They will be joined by other military and industry experts to discuss how to enhance maritime operations through the integration of naval assets, SMi Group said in a media release.
The two day event will explore the very latest technological developments within Naval Mission Systems as well as ways in which interoperability between nations and technological systems can be developed to maximise the proficiency of naval mission systems strategies and technology.

1. Opening Remarks from Rear Admiral (Retd) Massimo Annati, Former Director, Joint C4I Agency, Italian Navy
2. Rear Admiral Flavio Biaggi, Head of The Ship Design & Combat Systems Department of the Italian Navy General Staff, Ship Design & Combat Systems, Italian Navy will be discussing ‘The Importance of Multi-Role Capabilities and OSA to the Italian Navy’s Future Fleet Developments’
3. Captain Andrea Micheli, Head of the C2IS Office, C4 and Security Department, Italian Navy will present on ‘Developing Effective Combat Management Systems for the PPA and LSS Programme’
4. Rear Admiral (Retd) Massimo Annati and Rear Admiral Flavio Biaggi will be joining Spanish MoD, German Navy and US Navy in a panel discussion about ‘Effectively Integrating Key Navel Assets in Order to Deliver Future Maritime Operational Superiority’
5. Rear Admiral (Retd) Massimo Annati and Captain Andrea Micheli will be taking part in a panel discussion alongside NATO Modelling and Simulation Centre of Excellence, German Navy and Defence Science and Technology Laboratory as they explore ‘How Can Industry Help Drive Enterprise Wide Mission Systems Across the Navy.
