In April-September 2016, passenger liners brought 5,286 foreign tourists to the Kamchatka peninsula, says press center of Kamchatka’s Agency for Tourism and External relations.
“The cruise season opened on April 20 with the call of the Crystal Serenity. All in all the port of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky welcomed 12 calls of cruise ships this season. The final call was that of the Silver Shadow on September 27”, says the statement.
The Kamchatka Territory is especially popular among the voyagers from the USA, Japan, Korea, China and Germany.
According to the statement, the vessels used to stay for a day or two at the port. The sightseeing programme included a tour around Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, visiting of museums and monuments, tours to volcanoes and thermal springs as well as helicopter tours to the Valley of Geysers.
