The Acting CEO of Ukrainian Seaports Authority Raivis Veckagans held a meeting at the port of Odessa, during which he criticized the port’s management, says USPA press-office.
Thus, construction of long-term projects such as the terminal at the Quarantine Mole and reconstruction of the berth № 1-z still not completed. The question of reconstruction of the passenger terminal with placement of «Open customs area» is far from resolved.
The CEO familiarized with construction of each capital investment project and focused attention of port’s management on the poor quality of production discipline and failure to fulfill investors commitment.
«Investors are not cared by internal bureaucratic procedures, litigation and so on. When you assume commitments for construction of the object, it should be finished in clear terms that prescribed in the contract. Our task is creation of favorable conditions for business, rather than the artificial barriers that hinder investment attraction»,— the CEO noticed.
In the near future Raivis Veckagans intends to meet with the leadership of investor companies to restart the relationship as well as to determine the next steps for the implementation of mentioned investment projects.
Recall, the construction of container terminal at Quarantine Mole was suspended due to sink of the breakwater in 2014. To date a litigation between the contracting company and port authorities still running.
Completion of reconstruction of the berth № 1-z as part of a new grain terminal at Androsov Mole was expected by 2014, but is still ongoing and the reconstruction of the passenger terminal with new customs terminal slips due to lack of coordination between port managers and planners.
