United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) and Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. (ZPMC) have signed a memorandum of cooperation and joint activities today, 22 March 2017, in Moscow, says USC.
The document was signed following the official meeting of USC President Aleksei Rakhmanov and Acting Chairman of ZPMC Board Zhu Lianyu who discussed the possibilities of cooperation in shipbuilding and production of shipboard equipment.
The companies are set to establish ZPMC manufacture of state-of-the-art shipboard equipment in the Russian Federation for production of floating cranes, pipe laying and cable laying ships, oversized cargo carriers and auxiliary ships for servicing of drilling rigs.
The Russian and the Chinese sides have agreed to create a working group and to develop a roadmap for implementation of the Memorandum provisions.
United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC OJSC) is the largest shipbuilding company in Russia. It was set up in 2007 with 100% federal ownership. The holding comprises 60 companies and organizations (major shipbuilding and shiprepairing companies as well as leading design bureaus). Currently, USC consolidates about 80% of the domestic shipbuilding complex. The Russian market is the main focus of the state corporation though it also exports its products to 20 countries worldwide.
ZPMC (China) is a famous equipment manufacturing company. Its main products include large-scale container machinery and bulk cargo handing machines, offshore heavy-duty products, heavy-duty steel structures, energy-conservative and environment-friendly equipment and relative accessories. The company’s products are exported to 97 countries worldwide.
