Throughput of port Azov up 0.4% to 1.367 mln t in QI’2017

In January-March 2016, seaport of Azov handled 1.367 mln t of cargo (+0.4%, year-on-year), the port Harbour Master Vladimir Bragin told IAA PortNews. 

In the reporting period, transshipment of oil products grew by 20.1% to 120,000 t, grain – fell by 5.2% to 938,000 t, coal – declined by 1.4% to 125,000 t.

In the reporting period, internal turnover of Azov seaport  declined by 0.8%, year-on-year, to 1.348 mln t exports dropped by 24.5% to 918,000 tm imports almost doubled to 58,000 t, short-sea traffic surged 3.3 times to 372,000 t, transit – 6.6 times to 18,600 t.

The Azov Port Harbourmaster Service in January-March 2017 year registered 381 arrivals and 395 departures.

Port of Azov is situated on the banks of the Don river. It is the main gateway between the Mediterranean Sea with the inland waterways of Russia and the Caspian Sea, for freight flows to the central part of Russia, the Urals and Central Asia. The boundaries of the port's basin include the River Don from the 3151.0-km stretch, the Koysug River to the receiving Buoy No 1 of Azov-Don Sea Canal, including outer anchorage No. 6 and the Calancea bayou to Dugino stop-over point.‎
