In January-March 2017, the Port of HaminaKotka (Finland) handled 3.45 mln t of cargo (-0.2%, year-on-year). According to the port authorities, transshipment of export cargo climbed by 4.1% to 2.66 mln t including 682,280 t of paper (+3.2%), 449,620 t of cellulose (+15.5%), 552,400 t of liquid bulk cargo (+1.9%) and 243,240 t of dry bulk cargo (-33.9%).
Transshipment of import cargo fell by 0.2% to 795,990 t including 274,670 t of packaged cargo (-1.2%), 116,900 t of dry bulk cargo (-8.7%) and 221,700 t of liquid bulk cargo (-20.9%).
Transshipment of transit cargo fell by 10.1% to 803,120 t, inland traffic dropped by 28.5% to 179,100 t.
Transshipment of containers climbed by 8.1% to 179,000 TEUs, transshipment of automobiles plunged by 65.7% to 782 units.
The number of calls declined by 2.8% to 627 calls.

Port of Kotka comprises ports of Mussalo, Hietanen, Kantasatama, berth Puolanlaituri (Polish berth), berth Halla, and also port premises Sunila. Port of Hamina is the eastern port of Finland located 35 km from the Russian border. In 2016, the port handled 13.4 mln t of cargo.
