VSC opens a direct service from ports in Vietnam, China and Korea

The terminal of LLC Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company has launched a direct service to deliver import and export containers to and from Hong Kong, Hai Phong, Ningbo, Shanghai and Pusan. The new KOREA – HAIPHONG – RUSSIA (KHPR) service with more vessel calls has replaced the former PUSAN – VOSTOCHNY SERVICE (PVS) of Sinokor.

The expanded KHPR service will operate three vessels: HSL AQUA, FESCO VOYAGER and KHARIS HERITAGE. The first HSL AQUA vessel capable of carrying 1,060 TEUs was handled by the VSC on 27 March 2017, with 757 TEUs having been unloaded and 831 TEUs – loaded.

The upgraded service substantially expands cargo delivery options: containers from Hong Kong, Hai Phong, Ningbo and Shanghai will be delivered directly to and from VSC, without having to be handled and wait in the Pusan port in South Korea.

According to the Managing Director of VSC, Alexander Dudko, the upgraded service will allow to substantially improve the cost efficiency and reduce time-in-transit of containers from Chinese, South Korean and Vietnamese ports to and from VSC and will make the line more attractive for the customers of the terminal. “In addition, the line will operate more capacious vessels, which with time will positively affect the cargo turnover of VSC and the container volumes in the Far East generally”, – noted Mr. Dudko.
