Throughput of Vostochny Port up 5.8% to 5.73 mln t in QI’2017

The volume of the cargo handled by the port during the first quarter of 2017 was 5.73 million tons. This represents a 5.8% increase over the comparative period of the 2016.

In March, the company achieved a significant milestone, handling 2.2 million tons cargo for the first time in its history. The average daily discharge rate was 937 rail cars, and in total, the stevedore company accepted 29 032 rail cars with coal of various grades from the coal mines of the Kemerovo region.

“In developing the two transport nodes , railway and stevedore,  we sought to create a symbiotic relationship. As a consequence the volume of coal supply to the ports by JSC “Russian Railways” is growing steadily. During the first quarter of the year, the transportation of coal on the railroads within the Russian Federation increased by more than 9%.The trans-shipment volumes of JSC “Vostochny Port” increased by almost 6% over the same period of the previous year.  This was made possible through highly successful negotiations and optimal coordination of operations. Operational processes are organized in a highly competent and efficient manner,” says Anatoly Lazarev, Managing Director of JSC“Vostochny Port”, drawing attention to the positive dynamics of operation.
