Lotus shipyard lays down yet another dry cargo ship of Project RSD49 for Anship LLC

On 20 April 2017, Astrakhan based shipyard “Lotus” (a part of United Shipbuilding Corporation) laid down yet another dry cargo ship of Project RSD49 in the framework of the II Caspian International Technological Forum, says press center of the Astrakhan Region Government.

Lotus shipyard will thus build its third ship of Project RSD49. Two dry cargo ships, the Vladimir Zakharenko, and the Anatoly Sidenko, were delivered to Anship LLC in 2014.

“I would like to thank Lotus shipyard for the previous two dry cargo ships, - said Boris Karavayev, representative of AnRussTrans Group. – They feature high quality and reliability and they are in high demand in the market. We deploy them in different regions – in the Caspian Sea, at inland water ways and in the Mediterranean Sea.”

Dry cargo ship of Project RSD-49 will be built for Anship LLC under the leasing contract with Goznak-Leasing CJSC as a lessor. The construction is to be completed by September 2018. Contract value – RUB 800 mln. Vessels of project the RSD49 are so far the largest of dry cargo ships that satisfy the dimensions of Volga-Don Shipping Canal. The Volga-Don Max vessels of mixed river-sea navigation (classification of Marine Engineering Bureau)  have the length of 140 m, breadth of 16.7 m, cargo holds capacity - 10,920 cbm, sea endurance - 20 days, crew – 10, accommodation – 12.

JSC Shipyard Lotus (a subsidiary of MNP-Onshore & Offshore Group) operates two shipyards in Astrakhan region and specialized in construction of modules of topsides for offshore platforms. The company repair ships hulls, hull systems, and machinery. Since 2012 the shipyard is managed by United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC). The main shareholders are USC, Caspian Energy Group and the Government of the Astrakhan region.
