Throughput of port Kaliningrad in QI’2017 up 1% to 3.14 mln t

In January-March 2017, the port of Kaliningrad handled 3,140,400 t of cargo (+1%, year-on-year), says Baltic Sea Ports Administration.

Transshipment of dry bulk cargo grew 2.5 times to 719,000 t including 142,000 t of coal (-3%) and 2,800 to of mineral fertilizers (-62%). The growth was driven by other dry bulk cargo.

Transshipment of dry loose cargo fell by 17% to 826,300 t, transshipment of general cargo fell by 39% to 282,900 t.

The port’s container throughput grew 5.3% to 49,730 TEUs.

Transshipment of cargoes carried by ferries totaled 356,200 t (-33%), liquid bulk cargo – 711,200 t (-1%) including 380,900 t of oil products (+8%), 165,700 t of crude oil (-16%) and 149,500 of food cargo (+11%).

In 2016, the port of Kaliningrad handled 11.70 mln t of cargo (-8%).
