In January-April 2017, the port of Rostov-on-Don handed 4.272 mln t of cargo (+13.2%, year-on-year), Harbour Master of Rostov-on-Don port Andrei Iovlev told IAA PortNews.
Transshipment of grain increased by 18.5% to 888,000 t, crude and oil products – by 24.2% to 776,000 t, bulk coal and coke – 2.3 times to 395,000 t, liquid food – by 17.6% to 162,000 t. Transshipment of non-grain cargo fell by 6.8% to 284,000 t, metal scrap – by 45.8% to 91,000 t, general cargo – by 37.6% to 74,600 t.
In the reporting period, loading at the port grew by 11% to 3.623 mln t, transit – by 56.1% to 456,000 t while unloading dropped by 11% to 193,000 t.
The number of arrivals/departures increased to 1,201 / 1,232 versus 1,066 / 1,124 a year ago.
Bunkering at the port of Rostov-on-Don decreased by 22% to 26,300 t.
