As part of Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) and Gazprom Neft have signed an agreement on strategic partnership. USC says the document was signed by USC President Aleksei Rakhmanov and Andrei Patrushev, Deputy CEO for Offshore Development, Gazprom Neft.
The agreement will let the parties coordinate their efforts on the development of domestic technologies and equipment dedicated for the continental shelf of Russia. The document covers the designing of multi-functional support ships, drilling rigs and underwater facilities for oil production.
Under the agreement, USC is going to conduct research and develop technical documentation for equipment with respect to requirements of Gazprom Neft.
Gazprom Neft, in is turn, will contribute to conducting pilot testing of sample equipment, particularly in its license areas on the continental shelf of Russia. In the future, the company will look into the use of new equipment.
The agreement provides for arranging collection, consolidation and exchange of information, reference materials, best practices and research findings as well as holding joint meetings, consultations and discussions needed for development and production of advanced equipment.
To implement the agreement the parties will develop mechanisms for special investment contracts with state guarantees and facilitate the development of the required legal framework.
