In January-August 2017, the port of Rostov-on-Don handed 13,370 mln t of cargo (+9.3%, year-on-year), Acting Harbour Master of Rostov-on-Don port Vladimir Kalashnikov told IAA PortNews.
Transshipment of crude oil and oil products grew by 5.7% to 4.659 mln t, grain – by 10.6% to 3.857 mln t, non-grain cargo – by 1.5% to 1.871 mln t, coal and coke – by 45.6% to 1.513 mln t, general cargo – by 16.3% to 371,000 t, liquid food – by 30.8% to 327,000 t. Transshipment of metal scrap fell by 33.6% to 510,000 t.
In the reporting period, loading at the port grew by 4.8% to 8.571 mln t, transit – by 21.7% to 4.286 mln t while unloading fell by 2.6% to 517,000 t.
The number of arrivals/departures increased to 4,353 / 4,427 versus 4,035 / 4,094 a year ago.
Bunkering at the port of Rostov-on-Don decreased by 37% to 55,500 t.
