The construction a series of leader-type icebreakers is supposed to be financed by non-government sources, Denis Manturov, RF Minister of Industry and Trade, told journalists.
According to him, there is a plan to attract banks and other non-government sources. The investors have not been determined yet.
Denis Manturov emphasized that there is no reason to build one leader-type icebreaker. A series of vessels is under consideration.
The work on designing the icebreaker is underway at Krylov State Research Center in cooperation with domestic design organizations.
