In January-December 2017, the port of Rostov-on-Don handed 21,607 mln t of cargo (+11.5%, year-on-year), Harbour Master of Rostov-on-Don port Andrei Iovlev told IAA PortNews.
Transshipment of grain grew by 25.8% to 7.476 mln t, crude and oil products – by 2.1% to 7.014 mln t, coal and coke – by 55.1% to 2.349 mln t, liquid food – by 20.3% to 550,000 t, general cargo – by 1.5% to 507,000 t. Transshipment of non-grain cargo fell by 15.7% to 2.453 mln t, metal scrap – by 20.7% to 779,000 t.
In the reporting period, loading at the port grew by 15% to 14.563 mln t, transit – by 6.8% to 6.313 mln t while unloading fell by 8.8% to 731,000 t.
The number of arrivals/departures increased to 7,252 / 7,256 versus 6,474 / 6,521 a year ago.
Bunkering at the port of Rostov-on-Don decreased by 14% to 93,500 t.
In December the port of Rostov-on-Don handled 1.560 mln t of cargo (+68%). The plan was to handle 1.660 mln t.
