MV Thuringia makes maiden CI3 service call at Chennai International Terminals

PSA’s Chennai International Terminals Pvt Ltd (“CITPL”) welcomed the maiden voyage of Interasia’s vessel “MV Thuringia” on 17th April 2018, the company said in its press release. 

The 4,250 TEU (twenty - foot equivalent  unit) capacity  “MV Thuringia”  is one of the five Main Line vessels deployed on the China India  service (CI3) connecting Chennai to key Far East markets with the following port rotation:  Chennai  – Kattupalli  – Port Kelang North  – Singapore  – Shanghai  – Ningbo  – Hong Kong  – Shekou  – Singapore  – Port Kelang West  – Port Kelang North  – Chennai.

CI3 is jointly operated by five consortium partners  – Wan Hai, Interasia, COSCO, OOCL and  X - Press Feeders.  The new service commenced at CITPL on 8th February 2018 with the arrival of  “MV Wan Hai 501”, a 4,252 - TEU vessel operated by Wan Hai Lines.
