Following the early resignation of Governor Aleksandr Kozlov, Russian President Vladimir Putin appointed Vasily Orlov Acting Governor of the Amur Region until an elected governor takes office.
Vladimir Putin earlier held a working meeting with Vasily Orlov to announce the decision to appoint him Acting Governor of the Amur Region.
The President earlier appointed Aleksandr Kozlov Minister for the Development of the Russian Far East.
