Besiktas Shipyard delivers lead harbor transshipment facility Luft 1
Besiktas Shipyard (Yalova, Turkey) says it delivered the lead harbor transshipment facility with crane capacity of 35 tonnes and hold capacity of 4,600 cbm on 19 June 2018, says Marine Engineering Bureau, the project designer.
The facility of Project CV03, named Luft 1, is intended for harbor transshipment of dry bulk cargo, primarily ore, from sea/river class ships to sea going bulk carriers with a possibility of cargo accumulation.
The Luft 1 is a non-self-propelled vessel with a crane and a hold. Its length is 63.86 meters, width - 24 meters, depth – 7.20 meters.
The vessel is equipped with a LIEBHERR crane of CBG350 type. Its lifting capacity is 35 tonnes (with boom of 12-30 meters) and 30 tonnes (with boom of 12-36 meters). Maximum boom reach is 46 meters. Production capacity – up to 20,000 tonnes per day.
The facility can perform cargo handling operations in the sea with waves of up to 2 meters high (4 points) an wind of up to 20 m/s (up to 5 Beaufort force points).
Endurance of the vessel is 20 days. Maximum weight of stocks - 200 tonnes.

The lead vessel of Project CV03 (Hull No 81) was laid down on 12 January 2018 and launched on 19 May 2018. The second vessel (Hull No 82), named Luft 2, was laid down on 19 March 2018.
