Russian Railways says that loading of Russia’s export cargo bound for domestic ports grew by 5.9%, year-on-year, to 204.4 million tonnes in January-August 2018.
In particular, coal loading grew by 4.4%, ferrous metal – by 11.2%, fertilizers – by 5.6%, grain – by 59.5%, paper – by 9.4%, timber – by 18.5%.
Coal accounts for 46.9% of exports, oil – for 25.9%, ferrous metal – for 8.9%, fertilizers – for 6.6%, grain – for 3.7%.
In the reporting period, loading of export cargo to the ports of the North-West Region exceeded 86.4 million tonnes (+8.5%, year-on-year), to the port of the Southern Region - 50.6 million tonnes (-0.1%), to the ports of the Far East Region – 67.2 million tonnes (+7.7%).
