In January-September 2018, seaport of Azov handled 10.205 million tonnes of cargo (+35%, year-on-year).
According to the stevedoring companies’ statistics, internal turnover of Azov seaport grew by 45% to 8.298 million tonnes.
Exports grew by 32% to 3.551 million tonnes, import – by 23% to 300,000 tonnes, short-sea traffic – by 60% to 4.446 mt, transit – by 2% to 1.908 million tonnes.
In the reporting period, grain transshipment grew by 51% to 6.736 million tonnes, oil products – by 6% to 2.127 million tonnes, coal – by 53% to 930,000 tonnes.
Turnover of vessels at the port of Azov grew to 3,309 arrivals and 3,319 departures vs 2,736 arrivals and 2,757 departures a year ago.
Port of Azov is situated on the banks of the Don river. It is the main gateway between the Mediterranean Sea with the inland waterways of Russia and the Caspian Sea, for freight flows to the central part of Russia, the Urals and Central Asia. The boundaries of the port's basin include the River Don from the 3151.0-km stretch, the Koysug River to the receiving Buoy No 1 of Azov-Don Sea Canal, including outer anchorage No. 6 and the Calancea bayou to Dugino stop-over point.
