The major amphibious ship Ivan Gren being on an inter-fleet transition from the Baltic Fleet to the Northern Fleet to a permanent place of deployment, passed the Baltic straits and sailed into the North Sea, says press center of RF Defence Ministry.
Before passing straits, the crew trained to navigate in narrow waters. The ship operates in normal state.
Earlier, by order of Russian Navy Commander Admiral Vladimir Korolev, a working group led by the Deputy Commander of the Navy, Admiral Alexander Vitko, in Kaliningrad checked readiness of major amphibious ship Ivan Gren for the inter-fleet transition from the Baltic Fleet to the Northern Fleet.
